Die Uraufführung des Sacre (Frühlingsopfer) in Paris 1913 wurde zum größten Skandal der Musikgeschichte: Provokative Rhythmen und Orchesterfarben zu heidnischen Ritualen in Urgewalt und Blut schockten das Publikum. Der legendäre Komponist und Dirigent Leonard Bernstein über dieses fesselnde Werk: »It's all about sex.«
