Das Album ist ein Mitschnitt der konzertanten Uraufführung dieser Oper vom 18. August 2024 an der Podlachischen Oper in der ost-polnischen Stadt Bialystok und zugleich die erste Schallplattenveröffentlichung dieses Werks, das auf einem Libretto von Pietro Metastasio aus dem 18. Jahrhundert basiert. Joash ist eine sog. Azione sacra, eine dem Oratorium ähnliche Mini-Oper in zwei Akten. Bei der Komposition stützte sich der Komponist teilweise auf eine polnische Übersetzung, bezog sich aber auch auf den Originaltext. Musikalisch bleibt Lukaszewski seinem eigenen Stil treu, der in der Tonalität verwurzelt ist und sich durch eine abwechslungsreiche Textur auszeichnet – von intimen Rezitativen bis hin zu dynamischen Chorpassagen.
