Die umfassende Neuinstrumentierung von Händels Messiah für großes spätromantisches Sinfonieorchester (inklusive Harfe und einem großen Schlagwerk-Apparat) von Sir Eugène Goossens lässt niemand kalt, wobei man sie entweder liebt oder hasst. Erstmals seit 1959 liegt hier eine Einspielung vor, wobei die moderne Aufnahmetechnik alles noch besser zur Geltung kommen lässt.
