Schottland-Welle
Gegen Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts wogte eine Schottland-Welle über Europa, die nahezu alle Künste erfasste. Die Bearbeitung schottischer Volkslieder für englische Verleger war dabei eine willkommene Einnahmequelle für zahlreiche Wiener Komponisten. Die Einspielung mit dem hochkarätig besetzten Ensemble Rare Fruit Council unter Manfredo Kraemer (u. a. Pablo Valetti, Luca Guglielmi und Jed Wentz) stellt den einfühlsamen Bearbeitungen Haydns frühe Beispiele des Wahllondoners Francesco Geminiani gegenüber und informiert in einem liebevoll gestalteten Booklet über die Hintergründe dieser Schottlandwelle.
