Franco Fagioli malt ein Fresko von Händels Meisterwerk mit einer lateinischen Exaltation, indem er dieses große englische Barockoratorium in den Farben des Mittelmeers malt, zusammen mit dem berühmten Chor von Barcelona und seinem caravaggesken Helldunkel, das dem Werk einen Moiré-Schimmer verleiht. Das Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal bildet den Rahmen für die Prachtentfaltung der Solisten, die uns auf eine Reise der Freude und des Leids durch das Leben und die Passion Christi mitnehmen: »Seht, ich verkündige euch ein Geheimnis ...«
