Ian Beck wurde 1947 in England geboren. Mit 15 Jahren verlies er die Schule, um Illustrator zu werden. Inzwischen hat er über sechzig Kinderbücher veröffentlicht und seine Bücher wurden weltweit über eine Million Mal verkauft.
