Kurzbeschreibung
Juliette has the power to kill with a single touch - and the power to save her shattered world. THE HUNGER GAMES meets THE X-MEN in the first book of Tahereh Mafis riveting dystopian trilogy which New York Times bestselling author Lauren Kate calls Addictive, intense, and oozing with romance.
Beschreibung
Juliette hasnt touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliettes touch is fatal. As long as she doesnt hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds dont fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things. So they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war - and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe shes exactly what they need right now. Juliette has a choice to make: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
Thrilling and original, SHATTER ME introduces an electric new YA talent, debut author Tahereh Mafi.

Biografie
Tahereh Mafi is a girl. She was born the youngest child with four older brothers in a small city somewhere in Connecticut, and currently resides in Orange County, California, where the weather is just a little too perfect for her tastes. She graduated from a tiny liberal arts college two miles from the shores of Laguna Beach, has varying levels of competency in eight different languages and spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where she had the opportunity to study Spanish literature in its native form. Shes traveled all over the world, lived on both sides of the country, and even spent some years writing really bad poetry. When unable to find a book, she can be found reading candy wrappers, coupons, and old receipts. She has no idea how to multiply big numbers in her head, and hopes to God no one will ever ask her to.
