Ursprünglich wurde das Album 1972 veröffentlicht, nicht lange bevor er mit "Shotgun Willie" seinen großen Durchbruch hatte. Nelson hat alle Songs auf diesem Album geschrieben oder mitgeschrieben. Das Album ist vor allem deshalb bemerkenswert, weil es Nelsons erste Soloaufnahme von "Good Hearted Woman" enthält, einem Song, den er mit seinem großen Freund Waylon Jennings komponiert hatte.
