Das erste Vinyl-Reissue
The Inspiral Carpets legen 2022 ihr viertes Studioalbum »Devil Hopping« neu auf, und zwar auf Vinyl.Die britische Indierockband gilt als einer der Hauptbestandteile der Madchester-Bewegung in den frühen 1990er-Jahren. Sie veröffentlichte insgesamt vier Studioalben, bevor sie sich 1995 auflöste. 2014 erschien mit dem nach sich selbst benannten »Inspiral Carpets« Album Nummer fünf.
»Devil Hopping« war demnach lange Zeit ihr letztes Album. Es erschien ursprünglich am 22. März 1994 und erreichte Platz zehn der UK-Charts. Die zwölf Songs der Platte wurden zuvor zusammen mit Produzent Pascal Gabriel in Parr Street Studios in Liverpool aufgenommen. Der Titel des Albums stammt von Gabriels Aussprache des Wortes »developing«. Als Singles wurden die Songs »Saturn 5«, »I Want You« und »Uniform« ausgekoppelt.
Diese Vinyl-Wiederveröffentlichung ist die erste seit dem ursprünglichen Release. Sie kommt in einer Standard 12ʺ-Hülle auf 140 g schwerem, roten Vinyl.
