An Introduction To Syd Barrett, ist eine Neuauflage der 2010 erschienenen Sammlung, die zum ersten Mal die Tracks von Pink Floyd und Syd Barrett auf einer Compilation vereint. Wir veröffentlichen sowohl die CD als auch die 2LP der hochgelobten Sammlung aus dem Jahr 2010 neu.
David Gilmour, der ursprünglich an den beiden Soloalben von Syd Barrett mitgearbeitet hat, als Co-Produzent von »The Madcap Laughs« und als Produzent von »Barrett«, ist der ausführende Produzent des Albums. Damon Iddins und Andy Jackson haben in den Astoria Studios fünf Titel neu abgemischt, darunter »Octopus«, »She Took A Long Cool Look«, »Dominoes« und »Here I Go«, wobei David Gilmour beim letzten Titel die Bassgitarre beisteuerte.
Auch Pink Floyds »Matilda Mother« erhielt einen frischen 2010er Mix. Das Artwork umfasst ein 20-seitiges Booklet mit (damals) brandneuen Grafiken und allen Texten, die von dem langjährigen Pink-Floyd-Mitarbeiter Storm Thorgerson und seinem geschätzten Studio entworfen wurden. Das Album enthält Tracks aus den Pink Floyd-Alben »The Piper At the Gates of Dawn« und »A Saucerful of Secrets«, sowie Syds eigene Soloalben und die frühen Pink Floyd-Singles »Arnold Layne« und »See Emily Play«.
