Das illustrierte Booklet enthält Linernotes von Procol Harum Experte Roland Clare und exklusive Interview Zitate von Gary Brooker. »Procol’s Ninth« wurde im August 1975 veröffentlicht und war Teil einer Serie von Aufnahme Sessions im Ramport Studio in Battersea von The Who, produziert von legendären Songwriterund Produzenten-Team Jerry Leiber und Mike Stoller.

Procol’s Ninth – geschrieben von Gary Brooker und Texter Keith Reid – brachte Songs hervor wie Pandora’s Box (eine Hitsingle im Juli 1975), The Unquiet Zone, Fool’s Gold und Typewriter Torment. Bekannt war das Album aber auch wegen zwei Coverversionen: Leiber und Stollers I Keep Forgetting und Eight Days a Week von Lennon und McCartney.

»Die erste CD umfasst dann natürlich die Originalstücke, zusätzlich findet man zumeist alternative Sessionaufnahmen der Albumsongs, die zum großen Teil ebenfalls bis dato nicht erhältlich waren.
