Offizielle 5-CD- und Blu-ray-Box mit allen erhaltenen britischen Radio- und Fernsehauftritten der legendären Strawbs zwischen 1966 und 1984.
Die Wurzeln der Strawbs reichen zurück bis ins Jahr 1963, als Dave Cousins und Tony Hooper das Bluegrass-Duo The Strawberry Hill Boys gründeten. Das erste Album der Strawbs erschien im Mai 1969 und markierte den Beginn einer großartigen Karriere mit einer Reihe von Klassikeralben. Dave Cousins war der visionäre, begabte Musiker und Songwriter, der die Band in ihren verschiedenen Besetzungen prägte. Zu den Mitgliedern zählten im Laufe der Zeit so namhafte Musiker wie Ron Chesterman, Tony Hooper, Rick Wakeman, Richard Hudson, John Ford, Blue Weaver, Dave Lambert, Chas Cronk, Rod Coombes und John Hawken. Cousins' musikalische Vision führte dazu, dass die Strawbs ihren Stil von ihren Folk-Wurzeln zu einer der führenden Progressive-Rock-Gruppen Großbritanniens entwickelten.
Zwischen 1966 und 1984 nahmen die Strawbs zahlreiche unvergessliche Radio- und Fernsehaufnahmen für die BBC und andere britische Sender auf. Diese remasterte Box enthält alle erhaltenen BBC-Radio- und Fernsehaufnahmen der Band sowie mehrere Titel, die für andere Sender aufgenommen wurden. Darunter befinden sich insbesondere drei komplette BBC-Radio-In-Concert-Shows, Auftritte bei „The Old Grey Whistle Test“ und „Top Of The Pops“ sowie ein Reunion-Konzert der Strawbs beim Cambridge Folk Festival 1983.
Sie ist eine wunderbare Hommage an das musikalische Vermächtnis des verstorbenen Dave Cousins.
