The legendary SCOTT MORGAN (RATIONALS, SONIC'S RENDEZVOUSBAND) has teamed up with some of Detroit's most highly regardedunderground luminaries to make his definitive solo album, and introduce his voice to the world at large. Scott Morgan, the album, is here to remind everyone that one of the greatestsingers in rock'n'roll music walks among us. Following the long awaited 2009 UK release of the Rationals A-Squared recordings (Big Beat), Scott performed the Rationals' songs live at select gigs with a band consisting of MATTHEW SMITH (OUTRAGEOUS CHERRY / NATHANIEL MAYER), CHRIS TAYLOR (AVATARS / MAZINGA), JIM DIAMOND (DIRTBOMBS / WITCHES), and DAVID SHETTLER (SSM / SIGHTS / NATHANIEL MAYER). Scott's new group played with the dynamics and energy of the Rationals and the MC5, but the thing that really blew everyone's minds was the voice at the center of it all. Scott Morgan is a first rate soul singer, admired byeveryone from MITCH RYDER to NATHANIEL MAYER, from ROB TYNER to IGGY. The general feeling seemed to be that the world needed a Scott Morgan LP that would really showcase his influentialand mesmerizing vocal stylings. Since his 70's stint in Sonic's Rendezvous Band, Scott Morgan has made a lot of great music with a variety of bands, a lot of loud motor city style stuff, and some straight up soul music as well (The Scott Morgan Band, Scots Pirates, The Hydromatics, Powertrane, The Solution), but this is his first proper solo outing. Scott Morgan, the album, is a point where Detroit soul tradition meets Ann Arbor music history in a blast of Downtown Detroit contemporary rockn'roll culture. It is brought to you by the producers responsible for records by NATHANIEL MAYER, The GO, The WHITE STRIPES, TheSIGHTS, and a whole lot of other good stuff.
