With an impressive background of four albums in the market, the spanish-venezuelan project KOTEBEL leaded by Carlos Plaza, has reached a great popularity among the prog-rock circuits ofSpain. Their latest work to date, "Omphalos", delivers passages plenty of symphonism, keyboard and guitar solos heavily influenced by classical music, bringing out the parts of piano, the details of cello and female voices. On the other hand the album also goes through dense passages, some of them experimental and dark , others more atmospheric with flutes andpercussions, endowing an admirable depth and complexity to this art work.
