Der erste Band von „The Complete Alkan Organ Works“ enthält Joseph Nolans Aufnahmen der wichtigsten Werke für Orgel und Pedalklavier von Charles-Valentin Alkan, gespielt auf der restaurierten Stahlhuth-Jann-Orgel der St.-Martins-Kirche in Dudelange. Die Veröffentlichung umfasst die 11 Grands Préludes und die Händel-Transkription Op. 66, die Petits Préludes sur les huit gammes du plainchant und das Impromptu über Luthers „Ein feste Burg“, Op. 69. Das Booklet gibt einen Überblick über Alkans Werdegang, seine besondere Stellung in der französischen Musik des 19. Jahrhunderts und die technischen Anforderungen dieser selten aufgenommenen Stücke.
