Das eigene Label des London Philharmonic Orchestra feiert seinen 20. Geburtstag mit einer weiteren Aufnahme unter Chefdirigent Edward Gardner, einem reinen Britten-Programm. Seine Sinfonia da Requiem schrieb Britten mit 26 Jahren, es wurde zu einer kraftvollen Antwort auf die wachsende Kriegsgefahr. Der Liederzyklus Winter Words auf Texte von Thomas Hardy, ursprünglich für Tenor und Klavier, wird hier erstmals in einer neuen Orchestrierung von Robin Holloway präsentiert. Die Konzertsuite The Prince of the Pagodas destillierte Edward Gardner selbst aus Brittens Ballett.
