Klappentext
From debut author, Kara Beecroft, comes a heart-warming, against-all-the-odds, winner of a story for readers everywhere who love football! Full of ambition, determination, heart and community-spirit, this is a great choice for fans of Phil Earle and Frank Cottrell Boyce!
According to 11-year-old Henry, the Ventree Vikings are the best football club in the world. They may be at the bottom of the league and at risk of relegation, but they have the most loyal fans, serve hot chocolate with whipped cream at their clubhouse, and THE Sidney Smith (a. k.a. absolute football legend) played for them before winning the World Cup for England.
So when the owner announces that he is selling the club for £1, Henry is determined to buy it. But he will quickly learn that owning a football club is harder than it looks, especially with ruthless businessman Rufus Judge waiting on the touchline if he fails.
If the Vikings are going to survive the season, it's going to take a lot more than community spirit and a deep love for the team to stop everything from falling apart...
You'll love this book if you:
