Biografie (Cornelia Funke)
Cornelia Funke wurde 1958 in Dorsten/Westfalen geboren, zog nach dem Abitur nach Hamburg und absolvierte eine Ausbildung als Diplompädagogin. Drei Jahre lang arbeitete sie als Erzieherin auf einem Bauspielplatz und studierte parallel dazu Buchillustration an der Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg.§Nach Abschluss des Studiums war Cornelia Funke zunächst ausschließlich als Illustratorin für Kinderbücher tätig - eine Arbeit, die sie dazu anregte, selbst Geschichten für junge Leserinnen und Leser zu schreiben. So wurde sie mit 28 Jahren freischaffende Autorin und Illustratorin.§Ihre freie Zeit verbringt Cornelia Funke am liebsten mit ihrer Familie. Außerdem ist sie ein großer Filmfan, reist gern und liest, so viel sie kann.§Seit Mai 2005 wohnt Cornelia Funke mit ihrer Familie in Los Angeles; zuvor lebte sie am Stadtrand von Hamburg.§2008 erhielt sie den "Roswitha-Preis" der Stadt Bad Gandersheim und den Medienpreis "Bambi", 2009 den Jacob-Grimm-Preis.
