Peter is grieving the loss of both the recently murdered Abigail Alamilla and his childhood innocence. Frankly, he isn't thrilled by the whole "vigilante justice" business. Ametri is fighting a lot of demons, and losing to most of them. But, he'll do anything to help his loved ones. Cor is collecting burdens like trading cards. Fortunately, she's read the rules, and she'll do whatever it takes to finish the game.

In a harsh, unforgiving town where no one else will get justice, these three become relentless in their pursuit. Naturally, this means interrogation, reconnaissance, and a lot of felonies. Add in a double-crossing co-conspirator, complicated home lives, increasingly literal hauntings, and feelings that are getting harder to hide, and things get messy.

The deeper they go, the more they are forced to consider where to draw the line. When to pull each other back, and when to let go. As good and evil, hope and despair, and friendship and love overlap, one thing is abundantly clear: this family is willing to die for each other, and they very well may.
