Lies is the epic ten track album from new, fast rising metal-influenced italo-disco duo Heartbreak. Comprised of the fantastically flamboyant, charismatic Argentinian frontman Sebastian Muravchik and British keyboard mastermind Ali Renault, Heartbreak have been enlisting a growing gang of devotees thanks to their superbly titled debut single, We're Back and electrically charged, stage invasion prone live show, blurring the boundaries between live music and religious experience. Christened "metalo", the pair's unique sound combines the high drama and melodic charm of early 80s italian disco (the European counterpart to New York's movement) with the dark, brooding energy of metal bands like Black Sabbath.
Having met in Sebastian's birthplace and hometown Buenos Aires while Ali was roaming across Argentina, the pair immediately bonded over a shared love of 70s and 80s disco music and synth-heavy new-wave. Later, craving London's musically fertile environment, Sebastian relocated to the capital. Soon after the move, an inaugural performance in the living room of a friend's house party marked the de facto birth of Heartbreak.
Having unified Sebastian's dramatic, euphoric vocals with Ali's fizzing, synth-riff lead production to thrilling effect, Heartbreak are now ready and braced to emerge from their fantastical studio lair and unleash Lies on a largely unsuspecting, unprepaired public. The duo's single debut single We're Back is released 11th August, followed by Lies on 22nd September.
