* digitally remastered
»To me Toto as a band are collectively the best musicians on the planet« (Eddie Van Halen 1993)
By the mid-eighties, Toto had become a radio and retail staple across the globe. With successful hit singles and albums dating back to 1978, their sixth smash album for Columbia Records Fahrenheit gave their fans more of the great sounds they were accustomed to hearing. The group achieved more gold and platinum success with hit singles like I'll Be Over You and Without Your Love.
With the addition of new vocalist Joseph Williams, this powerful rock band merged their successful formula, while adding some new musical dimensions to the Fahrenheit sessions. After playing individually and collectively with some of the most popular acts of all time like Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs, Toto combined their talents with some of their most famous musician friends for this stunning release. For instance, listen to Michael McDonald's powerful background vocals on the number one hit I'll Be Over You. David Sanborn is also enlisted to play saxophone on several key tracks like Fahrenheit. Don Henley provides his support on the magical ballad Lea, and the late great Miles Davis supplies the wailing trumpet solo throughout the strong instrumental Don't Stop Me Now.
With the nucleus of Steve Lukather (guitars / vocals), David Paich (keyboards / vocals), the late great Jeff Porcaro (drums and percussion), Steve Porcaro (keyboards / electronics), and Mike Porcaro (bass), Fahrenheit was a winning effort for the band and for their avid record buying audience.
Friday Music is very proud to offer this amazing album once again. For this Definitive Remaster Edition, we include all the original album cover graphics, as well as a stunning new remaster from the original Columbia Records tapes.
