Remaster des 1980er Klassikers der Pioniere der Industrial-Bewegung, Chrome aus San Francisco. »Red Exposure« gilt als ihr bestes Werkj, ein unverzichtbarer Klassiker des New Wave-Nihilismus für Fans von Space Rock, Krautrock, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire und Suicide. Mit Bonustrack.
Chrome was an experimental rock group founded in San Francisco, California in 1976. by Damon Edge and Gary Spain (synth) Chrome took part of their inspiration for their rough and sometimes chaotic music from proto punk pioneers like The Stooges. The sound of the group was often coarse and featured heavy elements of feedback and distortion. Their experiments in mixing synthesized noise with rock instrumentation have been cited as a forerunner of industrial rock music.
Originally issued in 1980, RED EXPOSURE finds the industrial-punk duo Chrome in fine form, with vocalist / keyboardist Damon Edge and vocalist / guitarist Helios Creed creating a restless, moody record that often sounds like Neu! on bad acid (see the dark, frenetic Eyes on Mars ).
A prime example of the San Francisco-based ensemble's late-`70s / early-`80s heyday, this album is essential for Chrome diehards, and should be of interest to industrial afficionados.
