Sven-Åke Johansson, born 1943 in Mariestad, has spent six decades enlarging what counts as music. From Swedish dance halls to Paris in 1965, then West Berlin in 1968 alongside Peter Brötzmann and Alexander von Schlippenbach, his path led through free jazz into a practice of his own: fluctuating tempi across hands and feet, ordinary objects turned into instruments, silence treated as sound.

This artist's book gathers scores, performance concepts, manifestos, song texts and eight interviews from 1968 to 2024. It documents Concerto for Twelve Tractors (1996), Harding Greens - Symphony for Cardboard Boxes , the swing band Night and Day , the 1979 Peitz Jazz Workshop with steelworkers, and recent pieces such as WePa Tower (2024).
