Das legendäre jamaikanische Label Trojan Records feiert bereits seinen 50. Geburtstag und veröffentlicht mit »Ska & Reggae Classics« eine neue Compilation mit den größten Hits des Labels, nun auch auf 2xLP!
Im Juli 1968 eröffnete das jamaikanische Label mit Sitz in London, Trojan Records, das Geschäft und innerhalb von Monaten nach seiner Gründung wurde der aufregende neue Reggae-Sound einem weltweiten Publikum vorgestellt. Im Laufe der nächsten Jahre stand Trojan für eine Reihe von weltweiten Mainstream-Charthits durch legendäre Künstler wie Desmond Dekker, Ken Boothe, John Holt, The Maytals, Bob & Marcia und Dave & Ansel Collins. Zudem legte Trojan den Karrieregrundstein für die zukünftigen Superstars des Reggae Bob Marley, Dennis Brown und Gregory Isaacs.
