Im Jahr 2005 gaben Simple Minds bekannt, dass sie am neuen Album
Graffiti Soul in Rom, Sizilien, Antwerpen und Glasgow arbeiten. Die Band
kehrte zum ersten Mal seit fast drei Jahrzehnten in die Rockfield Studios in
der Nähe von Monmouth in Wales zurück, wo die Gruppe ursprünglich ihre
früheren Alben Real to Real Cacophony, Empires And Dance und New
Gold Dream aufgenommen hatte. Bei der Veröffentlichung im Mai 2009
erreichte das Album Platz 10 der UK-Album-Charts. Zu den zwei Bonus-
Titeln gehört die Bandversion von Neil Youngs Rockin In The Free
World.
