Die ersten 3 Alben von Joan Baez stammen aus den Jahren 1960, 1961 und 1962, 2 davon sind Studioaufnahmen, eines ist ihr erstes und legendäres Live-Album.

Diese Aufnahmen bilden die Basis für diese Zusammenstellung. Bis heute spielt Joan Baez bei ihren Auftritten Songs aus dieser Zeit.

Dazu gibt es noch weitere Songs aus 1959, die als erste Aufnahmen von Baez gelten. Zum Großteil performt sie hier solo, doch es sind auch Duette mit Bill Wood und Ted Alevizos darunter.
