AVID Entertainment’s second foray into the classic 50’s catalogue of the legendary Frank Sinatra appears on its new AVID EASY imprint.
Representing excellent value for money AVID present three classic albums in their entirety on a 2CD set featuring Frank with his equally legendary conductor and arranger Nelson Riddle.
“Close To You”, “ A Swingin’ Affair” and “ In The Wee Small Hours” have all been superbly re-mastered by AVIDs in house engineers and this is surely Sinatra as he deserves to be heard. As an extra bonus AVID have also included a handful of singles from 1953 to complete an excellent package! Reproducing original sleeve notes and making some crucial additions to the published details taken from the memory of George Van Eps in conversation with AVID engineer Dave Bennett this release truly does justice to ol’ blue eyes.
To finish with a quote from the Swingin’ Affair LP - “You recall the song from a happy past...but the beat is brighter now than you remember it...the orchestra is richer sounding...more exciting...and the voice is Frank Sinatra’s. It’s a swingin’ affair!
