East of Eden started life as a violin based progressive rock band in the late 1960s. The group had a surprise chart hit with ‘Jig A Jig’ in 1970, but this novelty instrumental was not considered typical of their work. Several personnel changes later, East Of Eden modified their style to include country music influences, as featured on the seven tracks of this entertaining 1971 album which showcases the skills of singer / guitarist Garth Watt-Roy.
