For almost 40 years now any high-minded musical discussions or late night barroom banter about Texas music has had to include DOYLE BRAMHALL. As a songwriter, singer and drummer Doyle began his career in bands like the Storm and the Nightcrawlers with Jimmy and Stevie Ray Vaughan and went on to pen, with Stevie, some of the legend's most iconic songs including "The House Is Rockin'," "Tightrope" and "Wall of Denial" from Stevie's album In Step. Doyle also wrote the classic "Life by the Drop" released after Vaughan's death on his album The Sky Is Crying. With Is It News Doyle takes his Texas roots and runs toward thebayou, calling in friend and swamp-pop wild man C. C. Adcock toproduce. Bramhall also brought along son Doyle II, Nightcrawlers alumni Jimmy Vaughn and Billy Etheridge as well as gunslinger Denny Freeman (Bob Dylan). Tunes like "Lost in the Congo" and "Is It News" take Bramhall's blues pedigree to the edge of the envelope resulting in a singular benchmark of modern blues music.
