Der bekannteste und auch einflussreichste Trompeter der Welt prägte die Entwicklung des Jazz wie kein Zweiter. Nachdem er auch noch angefangen hatte, in seiner unnachahmlichen Art zu singen, entwickelte er sich zu einem der größten Allround-Entertainer. Er spielte in zahlreichen Filmen mit und nahm einige der aufregendsten Jazzplatten auf. Selbst heute, viele Jahre nach seinem Tod im Jahr 1971 ist seine Musik unvergessen, und er gewinnt immer noch Fans hinzu, die erst nach seinem Tod geboren wurden.
