Anlässlich seines 50. Todestages wird das Beste von Cole Porter (1891–1964) auf einer Doppel-CD zusammengefasst. Unter den wenigen großartigen Songwritern aller Zeiten teilte nur Irving Berlin Porters Fähigkeit, seine eigenen Texte zu schreiben, und was für brillante, anspruchsvolle Texte diese produzierten! Ab den späten 1920er Jahren führten seine Werke zu einer ganzen Reihe herausragender Erfolge, sowohl auf der Bühne als auch in Filmmusicals. »Anything Goes!« präsentiert seine wohl 56 berühmtesten Kompositionen auf zwei sehr gut gefüllten CDs.
Die Künstlerliste ist phänomenal und wurde meist aus zeitgenössischen Aufnahmen bis hin zu Erstveröffentlichungen ausgewählt. Cole Porter selbst ist sowohl als Sänger als auch als Pianist auf »Anything Goes« und »You're The Top« aus dem Erfolgsmusical »Anything Goes« zu hören (das auch Ethel Mermans atemberaubendes »I Get A Kick Out Of You« produzierte).
