The Routledge Companion to Young Adult Literature, Gebunden

Klappentext

The Routledge Companion to Young Adult Literatureexplores the question of what YA literature is, or might be, while setting it in dialogue with both children's and adult literature.

The Companionpresents new research on the contemporary concerns shaping publishing and scholarship, and brings current thinking to bear on the origins and history of the field, as well as on the theorisation of adolescence. It works towards expansive, inclusive definitions of YA literature, drawing on material from across the globe and on a wide range of established and emerging theoretical and interdisciplinary perspectives. Across prose fiction, poetry, graphic novels, drama, video games, and other multimodal forms, it traces the interplay between YA literature's ever-expanding generic range and the variety of demands made on readers.

This innovative collection is an essential resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students, academics, and researchers working in Children's Literature, YA Studies, Education and Literacy Studies, Youth Studies, Publishing Studies, Librarianship, Genre Studies, Popular Culture, Literary Theory, and Area Studies.
