Temple Grandin: Calm Animals, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Our pets deserve to be free from fear as much as we do. Yet we often unintentionally inflict fear on our dogs, our cats, our horses, and other animals by misunderstanding what goes on in their heads. For over fifty years, Temple Grandin has worked to prevent this by teaching pet owners and farm animal handlers to recognize what makes their animals afraid and what steps to take to reduce those fears. This book covers the full range of animal fear and anxiety, from a cat hiding from a stranger to a dog destroying the house when separated from its owner, or a horse bucking its rider and fleeing when encountering a strange but seemingly innocuous object.

Temple Grandin is uniquely positioned to take on this task. To understand animals, you need to get away from words, and Temple's mind is sensory-based; she thinks in pictures, not in words. This unique ability allows her to see the world as animals perceive it. In this book, she shares her insight and wisdom with all those who love and care for animals.

Dr. Temple Grandin has written many books, including Animals in Translation , Animals Make Us Human, and Visual Thinking , all of which are New York Times bestsellers.
