Susan Buckingham: Ecofeminism: The Basics, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Ecofeminism: The Basics introduces the ecofeminist approaches to understanding how humans interact with, dominate and are embedded within the natural environment, of which we are a part.

Tracing ecofeminism from Françoise d'Eaubonne's coining of the term in Feminism or Death through to the mid-2020s, the book examines its theoretical debates, activist practices and creative expressions, including its near collapse at the turn of the twenty-first century and subsequent renewal. The book explores:

• ecofeminism's relationship to colonialism, capitalism, patriarchy, racism, speciesism and other forms of oppression;
• ecofeminism as both theory and lived activism;
• emerging perspectives on gender, disability and polycrisis.

Written in an accessible style, this book is essential reading for students of gender studies, environmental studies, social sciences and the humanities, as well as activists and campaigners.
