The Commodore 64 is the most signifi cant computer of its era. From 1982 to 1994, a total of 27 million units were sold-more than any other computer from a single manufacturer a erwards. Due to its widespread use as well as its technical features, the C64 has a huge international following-even to this day. The 19 contributions compiled in this book illustrate the signifi cance of the platform for the digitalization of society, the general public's computer science knowledge, as well as digital art and culture-both in the past, present, and also in the future. Volume 5 of the 'Computer Archaeology' series is partly based on the conference of the same name held in 2024 at the University of Bonn and has here been supplemented with additional contributions from the fi elds of artifi cial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital humanities.

Biografie (Stefan Höltgen)

Stefan Höltgen, Dr. phil., geb. 1971, studierte Germanistik, Philosophie, Soziologie und Medienwissenschaften an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. 2009 promoviert er mit einer Dissertation über "Medien- und Gewaltdiskurse im authentischen Serienmörderfilm" in Bonn. Seit 2009 lebt und arbeitet er in Berlin als Journalist und Publizist sowie Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Fachgebiet Medienwissenschaft der Humboldt-Universität. Neben Buchpublikationen und Herausgeberschaften schreibt er regelmäßig Kritiken, Rezensionen und Artikel für Magazine und Zeitschriften.

Biografie (Jens Schröter)

Jens Schröter, Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1961, ist Professor für Exegese und Theologie des Neuen Testaments an der Universität Leipzig. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die kanonische und außerkanonische Jesusüberlieferung, die Geschichte des frühen Christentums und die Theologie des Neuen Testaments.
