The open access volume "Skill and Scale in Transnational Mediumship" presents ethnographic inquiries into new communities of practice and enskilment that revolve around techniques of mediumship, spirit possession, and trance rituals in a globally interconnected world. The increased mobility of people, things, signs, and symbols that shape and reshape trance practices and spiritual experiences has significantly widened their scope and outreach. Biografie (Ehler Voss)

Ehler Voss, Studium der Ethnologie, Philosophie und Germanistik in Marburg und Leipzig; Promotion 2010; seit 2011 Forschung an der Universität Siegen zu Transformationen der menschlichen und technischen Medien im 19. Jahrhundert im Rahmen des DFG Forschungsverbundes 'Gesellschaftliche Innovation durch nichthegemoniale Wissensproduktion'.

Biografie (Martin Zillinger)

Martin Zillinger (Dr. des.) forscht am Forschungskolleg »Medienumbrüche« der Universität Siegen. Seine Schwerpunkte sind Medienethnologie, Religionsethnologie und Migration sowie der Mittelmeerraum und Europa.
