Seth: The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Legendary cartoonist Seth takes readers into the hallowed halls of the G-N-B-double-C---The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists --where yesterday's comics legends and their beloved characters adorn the walls, and only the elite few can get an up close and personal look. That is, until now. Welcome to the Dominion branch of the Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists , erected in 1935--the last standing building of the once prestigious members-only organization (the 'G-N-B-double-C,' to those in the know). Here, everyone from all branches of the industry---newspaper strips, gag cartoons, nickel-backs, comic books, political art, accordion books, graphic novels---gathered in their dark green b
lazers to drink cocktails, eat, dance, and discuss all things cartooning.

In The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists , beloved elder statesman of indie comics and multi-award-winning cartoonist Seth opens the door to an unseen world of Canadian comics: sometimes fictional and sometimes not, sometimes humorous and sometimes bittersweet, but always fascinating in its creative exploration of history and collective memory.
