En 2014 se cumplió el cincuenta aniversario de la aparición de Mafalda y sus amigos; ese mismo año, Quino fue distinguido con el premio Príncipe de Asturias.

Mafalda se plantea constantemente cómo va el planeta y es que si uno se detiene a observar cómo tratamos la Tierra se da cuenta de que hay motivos para preocuparse. Debiera haber un día a la semana en que los informativos nos engañaran un poco dando buenas noticias.
