Biografie
Quino wurde berühmt durch die von ihm geschaffene Cartoon-Figur Mafalda (1964 - 1973). Er zeichnete für das Kinderhilfswerks UNICEF eine Extra-Ausgabe von Mafalda zu der Kampagne für die "Rechte der Kinder" und wurde hierfür 1978 mit einem Preis beim Festival des Internationalen Humors in Bordighera, Italien ausgezeichnet. 1988 erhielt er für die Mafalda-Reihe den Max-und-Moritz-Preis des Internationalen Comicsalons Erlangen als bester ausländischer Comicstrip.
