Psychoanalytic and Group Analytic Reflections on War, Trauma and Resilience, Gebunden

Klappentext

This book presents a psychoanalytic and group-analytic examination of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the ensuing war. An international collection of contributors offers diverse perspectives on the psychological, social, and ethical dimensions of this conflict, including a Foreword: Dreaming Under Fire, by Robert Grossmark.

The book creates a space for dialogue between polarized viewpoints while exploring both the destructive forces unleashed by the conflict and the healing processes that can restore human connection. The chapters contain a wealth of real-life clinical experiences and analytical theoretical conceptualizations that attempt to grasp the complex phenomenon of war at both conscious and unconscious levels as it affects individuals and communities. The book navigates the complex terrain of treating survivors, hostages' families, and communities torn apart by war while confronting rising antisemitism, political polarization, and the collapse of dialogue. The book brings together Israeli, Palestinian, and international therapists, reflecting diverse voices and experiences shaped by the war.

Psychoanalytic and Group Analytic Reflections on War, Trauma and Resilience will be highly relevant for psychoanalysts, group analysts, psychotherapists, social workers, teachers, and other helping professionals who are practically or theoretically involved in warfare.
