Klappentext

This second edition of Positive Psychologyprovides a detailed review of theoretical and empirical contributions to this expanding field. The contributors provide a scientific understanding of how a variety of human strengths and positive constructs help people flourish in their daily lives.

This book, which has a mix of previous and new contributors, has three sections: Positive Subjective Experiences, Positive Traits, and Positive Institutional Perspectives and New Approaches to Positive Psychology. Chapters in the first section consider topics that include happiness, positive emotions, savoring, how to spend money well, key predictors of subjective wellbeing, meaning in life, and free will's link to wellbeing. Those in the second examine forgiveness and flourishing, mindfulness, welcoming accountability, and harmony and peace. The third set of chapters considers positive psychological capital, respectful workplaces, student success, positive psychology and possible selves, selfstories and growth, positive psychology and disability, selfdetermination and a positive psychology of disability, and a positive psychology for exploring cemeteries. Many chapters address applications of positive psychology and offer possible directions for the future of the field.

The breadth and depth of this book make it a key resource for undergraduates, graduate students, researchers, practitioners, and anyone interested in social, positive, and clinical psychology.
