A fresh perspective on autism, pediatric mental health, and the hidden role of environmental toxins

Nothing is more heart-wrenching for parents than to see their children struggle or suffer, unable to fully express their innate intelligence, affection, and joy. Parents of children who have been diagnosed with autism or related disorders, or who suspect their children might be dealing with these sorts of complex issues, are often told that real healing just isn't possible, and that they simply must accept their children for who they are. Dr. Pejman Katiraei brings a fresh perspective to autism and other pediatric mental health challenges, viewing them through a lens of biotoxin illness and giving frustrated parents and kids a hopeful path forward.

In this book, Dr. Katiraei discusses how one in three children is exposed to dangerous environmental toxins at home that can make them sick. He explains how these toxins can hijack the immune system and brain and affect every system in the body, causing children to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and even angry or violent. He then lays out a novel and cutting-edge testing and treatment approach for families to pursue with their healthcare providers, with a heavy focus on environmental cleaning and control measures, along with the use of antifungals and various peptides to support traditional methods such as psychological and occupational / physical therapy.

In addition to stories from families who have worked with him directly to find emotional and physical healing, Dr. Katiraei shares his own journey with these challenges and how he, as an adult, finally found a brighter, happier existence by treating his own toxicity. Parents will feel that they have a true partner in understanding what they are going through and taking effective steps to heal and reverse the toxin load that has kept their children from thriving.
