The blackest night hides the darkest deeds...

Detective Alex Harper has been in a bad way. After a case goes catastrophically wrong, she finds herself disgraced and demoted - her reputation in tatters. But now, reassigned to a small Welsh town in the Ogwen Valley, she is finally recovering.

Serving the community against the backdrop of the beautiful Welsh mountains has given her the quiet life she needs. But as an amateur astronomer it's the night that brings her peace, as she loses herself under the majestic, star-filled sky of the Snowdonia Dark Skies reserve.

But dark things can happen in those quiet, uninterrupted hours - and as the Perseids meteor shower lights up the sky, a scream rings out that will never be heard. As the sun rises, the body of Elowen Price, the charismatic head of the Glanogwen Observatory, is found brutally murdered.

Alex knows that the answers to what happened are close at hand. But as the demons of her past stir, could the truth be even closer than she thinks?

Get hooked on the first book in the Dark Skies series - a dark, brooding murder mystery which twists and turns right to the very end. Perfect for fans of LJ Ross and Rachel McLean.
