Paul Bochner: Penelope, Gebunden

Klappentext

On a late winters evening, author Paul Bochner looked out the window of his home. A solitary fawn stood in the near darkness, emaciated, disabled, and clearly in pain. A broken foot meant that she had been abandoned by her mother and left to endure a solitary and brutal winter alone in the woods.

But she chose the right house.

From that night, remaining wild and free, she returned to him daily. Each time she appeared, Bochner greeted her gently, offering food, empathy, and care, allowing her to guide the progress of their relationship. He called her Penelope. As he earned her trust and observed the full range of her emotions, it became evident that their inner lives were more alike than might have seemed possible.

This is a memoir of an uncommon bond of love, trust and understanding that endures over many years. A transcendent and important story about the unlikely intersection of two lives, who on finding each other, remind us of the woven threads that unite us with the natural world.
