Pat Lamondin Skene: Flying Canoe, Danger Before Dawn, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

After hearing their pépér tell the traditional French Canadian story of the Chasse-galerie (Flying Canoe), Maddie and Noah hope for an adventure of their own.

They sneak downstairs to find their mémér's decorative golden canoe, and whisper the magic words to make it fly. To their surprise, the canoe grows in size, and suddenly they're being flown through the sky--back to 1892!

In a bumpy crash landing, the siblings lose track of their magic canoe and find themselves trapped in the past. But they soon meet Lou and his sister Becca, two Métis children who help them navigate river rapids, forest trails and the dangers of the wilderness. As they search for the missing canoe, the children learn new things about about Métis culture and ultimately discover that they had the keys to return home all along--kindness, courage and working together.
