This monograph argues that a normative theory of IR that incorporates elements from an African Christian ethic as well as Ubuntu ethics and that links development and peace would provide sustainable peace in the Great Lakes Region of Africa. Mubangizi examines eleven catholic institutions grouped in four categories: health care, peace, education, development and humanitarian assistance, and he shows how these institutions have impacted development goals and peace in Uganda as well as how this could be applied in the region broadly.
