Nora Harland: Thin Walls, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

At 2: 17 in the morning, Elias hears his own voice from the empty flat next door. He is alone, and the words are calling him towards a door he has no reason to open.

After a separation and a recording job gone wrong, Bellweather House was supposed to give him a quiet room and a fresh start. Instead, a routine repair leaves warmth behind the plaster, dark fibres along the skirting, and sounds his equipment cannot explain. Then the building begins to offer the silence he wanted.

As familiar voices travel between flats, ordinary conversations become difficult to trust. Elias can measure a noise and replay a recording. Understanding what he hears means listening to the neighbours he has kept at a distance.

Something is growing through Bellweather's walls. It is learning the residents' habits, and Elias's need for a room of his own may give it a way to keep him there.
