Nick Mangiaracina: The Nautilus, Kartoniert / Broschiert

Klappentext

Welcome to The Nautilus, a collection of short stories and poetry more than two decades in the making. The Nautilus is a book about a lot of things, although some of its major themes include love, finding the magic in the small moments, the importance of justice, & the absurdity of life. Some of my favorite stories from this collection include:

• A Rumination on Ranch: A man's girlfriend has literally died from excessive Ranch dressing consumption, which leads him to question his worth and reflect on the relationship as a whole
• How to Make A Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich: Based on a true story, this one is about the infamous Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Assignment. You may think you know how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but do you really? This is a story about perspective and how we often get caught up in our own experience to the detriment of others
• From the Bottom of the Hill: A true story about Guitar Dave, a homeless man living on the streets of Lawrence, Kansas, and his son Anthony. Dave shares some stories from his long life and talks about life on the street. Despite his flaws, Dave remains grounded in his existence and reminds us of the power of resilience
• For Vanessa: Based on a true story. Two writers meet and then find common ground over past trauma, film, and their general penchant for story telling. Everything is O. K. until it suddenly isn't
• *The Not So Secret Sauce:*The story of Winstead's secret sauce is finally revealed, although will the secret be revealed to its requesters? This is a story about the importance of how we treat others and who should know what information
