Michael Bond, geboren 1926 im englischen Newbery, war Mitarbeiter bei der BBC und später Kameramann beim Fernsehen. Er schrieb Kurzgeschichten, Hörspiele und Drehbücher. 1958 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Paddington-Buch.
