Klappentext

Now in its third edition, Analog Synthesizers charts the technology, instruments, designers, and musicians associated with its three major historical phases: invention in the 1960's-1970's, re-birth in the 1980's-1990's, and software synthesis. This book explores the physics of sound and individual synthesizer elements, alongside extensive detailed instructions on sound programming.

Featuring new interviews with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Rick Wakeman, and Jordan Rudess, as well as a review of a vast range of old and new instruments, the book includes advice on their selection and servicing. New material for this edition includes a look at instrument museums and studio instrument collections around the world, alternative forms of accessibility, and the latest developments in software sound synthesis and the applications of Artificial Intelligence to music creation. The book is accompanied by a website offering video demos of key instruments and hundreds of audio demos to download as sound samples.

Including a detailed bibliography and discography with suggestions for further reading and choice sounds, Analog Synthesizers is a useful resource for entry level musicians looking to purchase their first instrument, as well as seasoned professionals who want to appreciate and master the secrets of analog sound synthesis.
